Remembrance Day

On Friday, November 10th, all our students from Grade 1 to grade 6 participated in a moving Remembrance Day assembly in the gym.  Our Kindergarten students had their own special Remembrance in the Library.

 Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all of the families who were able to come and meet with teachers during the parent teacher interview times. There was a very positive feeling throughout the school.  It is important that home and school work together to support student learning.  If you were not able to meet your child/ren’s teacher(s), please contact the respective teacher to arrange for a phone conversation or to schedule a meeting.

 School Council

Many thanks to our School Council for organizing the Milk/ Juice, Jo-Jo’s Pizza, Subway, and the Lunch Lady.  Ordering for the New Year Hot Lunch and Milk/Juice will be open shortly.  Please watch for the information from School Council.

 Safe School Practices

Lockdown and Secure Your Classroom practices have taken place this month.

School Learning Plan and School Plan for Student Well-Being.

At the October PA Day and in subsequent staff meetings, teachers have been involved in preparing the School Learning Plan and Student Well-Being Plan for this school year.  The SLP is in the area of Numeracy and Number Sense with a focus in the area of problem solving. The focus of the Well-Being Plan is for students to effectively solve problems(academic and social) and/or conflicts more independently, manage frustration, self-regulate, to be resilient and respectful. The plans will be posted on the school website shortly.

 Upcoming Events

Mark your calendars for Tuesday December 19th at which time some Primary and Junior students will be performing.  If your child’s class is performing at this time, their classroom teachers will be communicating their respective information to you through their class information sites. The Kindergarten Holiday Concert will take place on Wednesday, December 20th at 1:00 p.m.

 Winter Weather Is Coming

Although winter weather has yet to really arrive, please make sure your child/ren come to school dressed for outside recess play and outside gym.  The children are outside daily for recess and outdoor physical education classes. Only extreme weather cancels our outdoor time.

 Student Absence

Thank you very much for calling in your child’s absence or late arrival.  It is a tremendous help in ensuring students have been accounted for. Please ensure you call in before the start of the school day, as it is a requirement that we check each absence every day.

Call 613-592-4492 and leave a message on the voicemail 24 hours a day or by email at

 Vaccine Letters

If you have received a letter from Ottawa Public Health, you must update your child’s immunizations and report the information to Ottawa Public Health.  Please remember to continually update your child’s immunization records with Ottawa Public Health.
